Elina Ruiz
Elina Ruiz began her professional dance training at the Nigelia Soria School where she studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, tango and folkloric dance. After receiving her diploma as a qualified national dance teacher Ms. Ruis moved to Buenos Aires where she continued to study tango with such luminaries as Jorge Collosio, Gustavo Naveira, Olga Bessio, Carlos Gavito, Roberto Herrera, Vanina Bilous, Chicho Frumboli, and Horacio and Mora Godoy.
Elina has taught classes in the “Escuela Argentina de Tango”, Roberto Herrera Studio, Tango Brujo Academy, Unitango, The Mora Godoy Studio, the club Gricel, Mariposita Studio and La Viruta. She has also taught for prestigious Festivals such as CITA, 1 and 2 international Tango Festival in Lisbon and Porto, Entrudanzas festival, Mundial de Tango, and co-founded “The Argentinean School of Tango” in Lisbon Portugal. As a performer Ms. Ruiz has travelled the world with various companies and shows such as Tango x 2, “Taconeando” tango show, Walter Hidalgo Tango, Ventarrones de Tango, Novitango, Fifth World Tango Summit, “El Borde”, worked as a choreographer and dancer on the television show “Danza Cafe”, and as a choreographer and dancer in the productions “Militango” (2000, 2001), “Argentinisimo” (2001, 2002, 2003) and “Lusotango”. Currently, Elina Ruiz runs a weekly milonga in Buenos Aires called La Pipetua.
